Ride 97 km through the streets of Joburg. Enjoy full road-closure for red-hot racing through the normally bustling city streets or a chilled cruise - you choose.


Individual Rider: Standard individual entry on a traditional upright bicycle.

Tandem: Standard tandem entry. Both riders need to enter their information.

E-bike: Only pedal-assist E-Bikes are permitted in this race as set out in T&C's

Handcycle: A hand cycle is a type of human powered vehicle powered by the arms rather than the legs.

Recumbent Cycle: A recumbent is a variety of bicycle which places the rider in a seated or lying position. The back of the rider is supported, and the rider's legs extend forward to pedals that are at about the same height as the seat.

Para Cyclist Start Group: A start group allocated to Para Cyclists. Disability must be stated in the Medical Details section of the entry process.

Para Cyclist Personal Start Group: Para Cyclists who choose this category will be seeding to their own personal seeding. Disability must be stated in the Medical Details section of the entry process.

Age Requirement
Individual participants must be older than the age of 12 years on 31 Dec 2022. Tandem participants riding with an adult must be older than the age of 9 years on 31 Dec 2022.
E-bike Rules
E-Bikes may only be ridden if the participant selects the E-bike category when entering online. Should an E-bike participant change his entry to / from an E-bike category without properly applying for such a change through the Race Office, he / she will be disqualified (T&C's apply).
Seeding Policy
An entrant’s 947 Ride Joburg ROAD index will be calculated using the following criteria: The Organising Committee will use selected road events obtained between 1 November 2019 and 30 September 2022 for seeding (at the discretion of the Race Director).
Timing Policy
Finish Time is the official timing company of the 947 Ride Joburg Road. It is compulsory for every cyclist participating to wear the Faces timing board that is available for purchase online.
Organisation Refund Policy
A 100% refund is given in the event of cancellation by the organiser due to Covid.
